Overview
Heritage Hideaway Bed & Breakfast was built in 1870 by well-known builder George Canfield and is located in the Halifax Metro region of Nova Scotia. Our central location provides the perfect base for taking day trips to some of the most famous sites in Nova Scotia. We have become a favorite destination for airline travellers to begin and end their visit to Nova Scotia because of the 15-minute hassle-free drive from the Halifax Stanfield International Airport. We are only 15 minutes away from downtown Halifax.
Attractions like the UNESCO World Heritage town of Lunenburg is just an hour away, and a thirty-five-minute drive will take you to the beautiful Annapolis Valley or Peggys Cove on the picturesque Lighthouse Route, where you can enjoy the scenic beauty of bays, beaches and coves. After a day of sightseeing and adventure, guests can relax, unwind and experience gracious hospitality and tranquil ambience at our historically restored bed and breakfast.
Our accommodations include two suites (Queen-sized bed), one ensuite and one private 4-piece bath. We feature Victorian décor and antiques, down duvets and pillows, plush robes, cable television, DVD player and wireless Internet. A bountiful, nutritious breakfast is served at 8 a.m. in the elegant dining room. Guests can gather around the fireplace in the living room with a good book, quiet conversation, or around the piano for a song.

The Heritage Suite features a gorgeous queen 4 poster canopy bed and fireplace. A great view of the Bedford Basin/Halifax Harbor and backyard gardens can be enjoyed through the windows adorned in Victorian style draperies. This room also includes a quaint sitting area and photos of olde Bedford. The 4 piece en suite bath has a separate shower and a treasure in the form of a large antique claw foot soaker tub.
The Carriage Room features a large mahogany headboard, windows adorned in Victorian style drapery overlooking Bedford Basin/Halifax Harbor and the backyard gardens. It also includes a quaint sitting area and photo scenes of old carriages as far back as 1871. A 4 piece private bath is located outside the room.
