Vue d'ensemble

Courtside Cottage is one of the original buildings of Harbourview Inn. Built around 1900, it was close to the hotel which stood where the playground is now and may have housed some hotel staff. The building has grown over the years adding three bedrooms, a deck and a ramp to the original construction.

Three skylights provide graceful light for what must have been in the past a very dark interior. Much of the original structure and character have been preserved and with a little exploring you can find several interior walls that started out as exterior walls. The cottage now has four bedrooms and can sleep nine: two rooms for couples, a small room with a single bed, and the "dormitory", which has two single beds and a fold-out double bed. Courtside Cottage is pet-friendly for cats and dogs, but no smoking is permitted within the building or on the porch or deck.

There is a full kitchen and bathroom, washer and dryer, free WIFI, lots of board and card games, and equipment ranging from tennis and badminton racquets to baseball mitts and binoculars. The main room has a huge fireplace that provides warmth for both body and spirit. A propane heater on the other side of the room helps out as needed. Courtside Cottage is ideally placed for those who want to make use of the pool, tennis court, or playgound, as each facility is just steps away.

It has a sweeping view of the Annapolis Basin and Bear Island which refreshes the eyes. On summer nights, the field in front of the cottage is ideal for star-gazing and counting meteors, while the beach is just steps away for a bonfire or (when permitted) for collecting clams for dinner.
